Human Anger!

My thought for the day:

I am so overwhelmed at times when a loved one displays anger towards me. Most of the time; I do not know, nor understand why. It is not clear if they are angry at me, themselves, life, or God. I know at times we all get on each other’s nerves, but when it feels like there is no sane reason for the other person’s anger; I can only look to what The Lord says. If I don’t then I will be allowing myself to become angry. And that would be displeasing to my Lord.

The song that comes to mind is:

“Open my eyes Lord, I want to see Jesus”

The verses I chose to help understand this are:

James 1:19-25
19 My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,
20 for man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.
21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror
24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.
25 But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it– he will be blessed in what he does

Colossians 3:8-9
8 But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.
9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices

Ephesians 4:26-27
26 “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,
27 and do not give the devil a foothold.

Ecclesiastes 7:8-9
8 The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride.
9 Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools.

Proverbs 29:22
22 An angry man stirs up dissension, and a hot-tempered one commits many sins

Proverbs 22:24-25
24 Do not make friends with a hot-tempered man, do not associate with one easily angered,
25 or you may learn his ways and get yourself ensnared.

Proverbs 21:19
19 Better to live in a desert than with a quarrelsome and ill-tempered wife.

Proverbs 19:11-12
11 A man’s wisdom gives him patience; it is to his glory to overlook an offense.
12 A king’s rage is like the roar of a lion, but his favor is like dew on the grass.

Proverbs 15:1-4
1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
2 The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of the fool gushes folly.
3 The eyes of the LORD are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good.
4 The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life, but a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.

Psalm 37:8-9
8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret– it leads only to evil.
9 For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land.

My Praise:

I am thankful for my mother and the wonderful impact she has had on my life

My prayer is:

That The Lord will be with me. That he will strengthen me to not become angry when I feel I am being attacked by someone else’s anger. That I will not return the anger, but instead; show kindness, understanding, and love. That I will remain calm and draw closer to God during these attacks from the world.
